Measures to support accessibility

 

5310 Publishing Company takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of 5310 Publishing:

  • Include accessibility as part of our mission statement.

  • Include accessibility throughout our internal policies.

  • Integrate accessibility into our procurement practices.

  • Provide continual accessibility training for our staff.

  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.

  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.

  • Include people with disabilities as our authors

  • We will release large print editions of our books whenever possible

  • We are committed to representing and providing a platform to those who are often quieted and discriminated against in the publishing industry

  • We respect and do our best to include people of all races, genders, identities, sexual orientations, ages, and abilities, and we will make sure that all of our authors are the same

  • All of our books and/or authors represent at least one minority group (Women, Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Immigrants, LGBTQ+, People with Disabilities, and others).

  • We do not tolerate racism, misogyny, homophobia, ableism, ageism, or xenophobia

  • We will try to accommodate our authors with disabilities whenever possible; through our communications, emails, documents, and events (online or in person)

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. 5310 Publishing is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the accessibility standard without any exceptions.
