I’m very happy with the whole experience. They’ve been very patient and understanding with me as a disabled author, which I’ve greatly appreciated; their contract was very good compared to the industry standard for a first-time author, and they’ve involved me in the creative process throughout (which many publishers don’t). They don’t offer an advance, but most publishers don’t do advances these days, especially for debut authors. 5310 Publishing never asked for a single penny from me, just as it should be for a traditional publisher, and unlike many small-press publishers do not force the author to do their own publicity (they request that you should help to promote your books on social media, but it’s not a requirement). I think my favourite thing about them is that they’re very ethical and do a lot for worthy causes, which is something I’m very passionate about too. I’m very happy working with them and would highly recommend the whole publishing experience to any authors considering sending in their manuscript.

My publisher has been wonderful! Great to work with, such a great experience! It’s been a crazy ride since early 2020 when I decided to write a novel… I’m thankful to so many, but a big one is my publisher; thanks for taking a chance on me! I enjoyed publishing, and it was a great experience to learn what goes into a book, and I just love having a team behind me, designing, editing, and advising me. Eric has been very supportive, and I appreciate all the advice I’ve been given. Not just advice, but encouragement, tips, and everything. I’m brand new to publishing, and Eric has been very patient with me and held my hand every step of the way, and really made me feel special like I really did something great. I know they see many writers, so it really means a lot.

Eric works on a tight schedule, he knows what he is doing, and is very fair. I absolutely love my cover design. Alex did a wonderful job. I couldn’t be happier. I’ve never had a novel published before, and the support has been nothing short of amazing. I fell in love with the cover when the publisher first showed it to me and couldn’t stop looking at it. My grandfather had a bird aviary, and l used to watch him feed his canaries, rosellas, and budgies. I hope he’s smiling in heaven because I’ve got a bird on the front cover of my debut novel. I’ve published three books with Eric and Alex, two of which got translated. Publishing my books with 5310 was a breeze! Working with Eric is great. He accommodates me all the time since I don’t know much of the English language or anything about publishing, so he does everything for me. As an author with a disability, I feel like Eric understands me and my limitations. He never made me feel ‘out of place’ or any less important than his other authors. I feel like I belong here, he incentivizes me to keep writing, and I can’t wait to release all of my future books with 5310 Publishing!

I was so worried a publisher wouldn’t care about my book as much as I do, but I feel like Eric really does! I couldn’t have gotten through this publishing stuff without all of his help and support! It’s been a pretty good experience. As one of 5310’s authors, I feel like they’ve done a lot for me. They taught me how to use Twitter analytics, offered to send some ARCs to reviewers and such (which is great because I have no connections), and promoted my book. I’m happy with them.
